words without meaning

Interpersonal encounters often fail due to a lack of communication. This doesn't always simply mean that no words are spoken. People talk past each other or assume meanings or interpretations that don’t apply to the other person. Is it due to an unwillingness to truly engage with the other person one hundred percent? Or simply a lack of empathy and social awkwardness? This work invites viewers to engage with others again with more attention and sensitivity. What do they want to say? And how do they really feel? I am deeply convinced that when people approach each other openly and without prejudice, leaving behind learned communication behaviors and interpretations, they can create a language that fosters understanding and community.
